Wales' Most Dog Friendly Hotel

24/03/20: Following the Prime Minister's statement on 23/03/20 the Castle is now closed other than for security, key management personnel and live-in maintenance staff. So there is 'generally' no one to receive incoming calls. The majority of reception, front of house, wedding planning staff are now furloughed and required to stay at home. Please can everyone email us rather than phone us. Or use the Chat Service on the website. Wedding Planners working still from home can still take incoming emails and answer queries on our chat service but cannot take phone calls.

For our email addresses, refer please to the Contact Us Page.

The Prime Minister's statement says you must stay at home. All gatherings of more than two people in public are now prohibited. From tonight people in Britain will be allowed to leave their homes for shopping for basic necessities and medical supplies only, and may only travel to work if absolutely necessary. All social events including weddings and baptisms are banned. Key personnel can handle emails and the chat service work from home so you can still remain in contact with us but not by telephone.

20/03/2020 23:00 hrs.

It  is with regret that due to the ongoing coronavirus situation, Boris Johnson today 20.03.20 at 17:03 hrs advised that Pubs Clubs Restaurants Cafes and Bars are to close at midnight on 20/03/2020. Whilst there was no immediate indication that this also included hotels, clearly Mr. Johnson indicated that Food was only to be served on a take-away basis. Therefore as a venue we have taken the decision that with immediate effect and until further notice we are unable to service any weddings, events or accommodation.

Please read our Coronavirus Page for full details of our postponement policy and procedure though this relates only to weddings. Accommodation bookings will not have paid any deposits but should let us know to cancel their rooms. We will in due course get around to cancelling B&B bookings ourselves but in the meantime were you to turn up we will not be actually open.  Wedding Guests and Clients who have not yet postponed their wedding will be contacted within the next 72 hours to discuss transfers of dates. However all of April and May and most of June 2020 wedding dates have now been processed into later months and Guest Bookings for these new dates will automatically be transferred to the new dates. At some point we will also confirm this by email individually to all affected wedding guests, though this may take some time over the next week.

We will re-open as soon as the Government allows us to trade again but this does not look likely for a few months. We remain hopeful about July and August 2020 onwards and will forward plan for re-opening then - with some great deals to look out for then - but this depends entirely on us all working together NOW as a society to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
Book by calling 01639 731167 / 730205 or complete the booking form here.

"A unique gothic dog friendly Welsh Castle, conveniently set within a glorious 40 acre Country Park, with idyllic shaded Woodland paths, Lakes and off-the-lead Dog Walks - right on your doorstep"

Why is Craig y Nos Castle such a great place for Dogs?  If your dog could only tell you.....

Here's a dog friendly Castle in Wales. Surrounded by Mountains. I'll show this to my owner.

Dog Friendly B&B - Craig y Nos Castle in Wales

It has nice walks for me in its dog friendly grounds, plenty of space to roam freely off the lead. I won't get lost, but if I do, their dog friendly parkland is all fenced in.

Dog Friendly B&B - Lower Gardens at Craig y Nos leading to the Country Park in Wales

Lots of dogs come here, and I can chase after all the exciting new scents.

There's a river I can swim in, and a lake I can take a dip in. My owner can throw stones and sticks for me in the river. It is nice and shallow and I can bound across to the other side and back.

Plenty of gardens and informal long grassy areas where I can run freely - that's nice. 11 Acres of land at my Castle in Wales and 40 acres of dog friendly Country Park I can explore.

The water looks cool and clear. Unlike Jack on the left, I promise I won't get muddy.

I'll stick to the gravelled paths, but if I do stray into the fields and have a good roll, I promise I'll have a wash after in the river's sparkling mountain water.

By evening I'll keep my owner company in the dog friendly Patti Bar
, where dogs are allowed to sit with their owners.

I see dogs come free, so there is no extra charge for me to come with my owner.

Let's keep my master and mistress company, and save on kennel fees!  After all, I know they'd be lonely and miss me if I didn't come with them!

That's Jack, the Castle's Golden Retriever and the white Alsatian is Sheeba.

I'd better have a look through the Castle's dog friendly accommodation now. Let's see if I can find a large enough room for me to lie down comfortably in, for the night.

I've heard on the dog-line there be rabbits here - and moles too (ssshhhhh).  It's a castle, so there's plenty of space for me and my owner to stretch our legs.
