Budget B&B Breaks in the Nurses Block - ideal for groups

Budget Breaks

in our Non En-suites

- from £25 PPPN*

based on 2 sharing a double room,

*only for stays of 3 nights or more

Nurses Block building, within castle grounds, non en-suite budget B&B

Alternative Option for Budget stays or when en-suites full - the Nurses' Rooms. Often available at weekends so you can include a full weekend in your break.  If en-suites are full on dates you wish to stay, our separate Nurses Building is a possible alternative with good availability, a decent lounge, and access to the doggie grassy area. It's useful if you are on a budget.

The Nurses' Room's kitchen and lounge is a large relaxing space which you will have pretty much sole use of during the week, as this block is under-occupied most weekdays.

However be sure to absolutely avoid being in this accommodation if there is a wedding party or another group using it. Groups and weddings, if using this block, will book it a year or so in advance, so you can easily check if it is empty on our availability chart before you book yourself in to these rooms.

Nurses' Rooms are 'hostel standard' non-ensuites with main lounge opening onto garden area.

Regular tariff was £80 per room per night reduces on Jack's Dog friendly Deal to £70 on first night, £60 per night on two night stays, and all nights drop to £50 B&B per night based on two sharing, when staying 3 nights or more.

You are not confined to one room in this building. Use the small bedroom just for sleeping in and by day, make full use of the large lounge and outside garden area. The little kitchenette with fridge and cupboards is handy for storing dog food, cold drinks and snacks.

It's little used during the week so you'll often have the place to yourself.

Sleeps 19 guests.

One night stays are £35 B&B per head (PPPN) based on two sharing a double room including breakfast. There is only ONE single room (NB11), so rooms 1-10 are all charged at £70/room whether you have two occupants or one occupant in the room. Two night stays are discounted to £60/room (£30 PPPN based on two sharing) and three night stays are £50/ room (£25 PPPN, again based on two sharing.  Singles in doubles pay the double room rate.

The Nurses' Rooms are so called because the Castle was once a Hospital and this is where the Nurses lived.

The rooms have not been changed. We simply added basins in each room, loos and showers one end, a galley kitchen and lounge.

Our quick refurbishment of a formerly unused single storey building is popular with ghost hunters, groups seeking budget accommodation in the Brecon Beacons and also as overflow for larger weddings.

The Nurses Building has nine double rooms and one single room. Rooms are very small, each with a handbasin - hostel standard.

When there is no event on - and even when there is - the Nurses' rooms tend to be unoccupied, so anyone seeking a B&B break will normally find they have the whole building to themselves, especially during the week.

It was once graded 2 star hostel before grading criteria changed to require more loos than the four we have here.

A disabled bathroom is at one end, showers at far end. In the middle there is a large-ish lounge with a small galley kitchen opening on to the lounge.

The showers are a tad basic, so the more discerning traveller will walk over to the neighbouring Sports Room and use the much smarter showers there - see below.
