"A unique gothic Welsh Castle
conveniently set within a glorious 40 acre Country Park
with idyllic shaded Woodland paths, Lakes and
off-the-lead Mountain Dog Walks - right on your doorstep"
Dogs are our link to paradise
They don't know evil or jealousy or discontent
To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon
is to be back in Eden
where doing nothing was not boring,
it was peace

Mountain Dog Walk behind Craig y Nos Coach House
We cross the road from Craig y Nos Castle, walking a few yards down the road. Just south of the Coach House, a field gate leads us to the path up the mountain opposite. Steep steps from behind Craig y Nos Coach House take us up the side of the mountain. It's a tough climb so we'll need lots of stops.
Plenty of opportunities for photos as we climb, pausing for a breather as the mountain views unfold before us. On this mountain dog walk we can look up the Swansea Valley and back down to Craig y Nos Castle below us.
At the top there is a style over a long stone wall. My owner will need to carefully lift me over this.
We can then follow the line of the wall we just crossed over, going right (north east). We pass some horse fields on our right.
Eventually we'll spot a field gate over to the left. Here we can join a path that eventually abandons us.
If we continue heading north east (compass would be handy) we'll eventually intersect the main farm tracks leading down to the Dan Yr Ogof show caves.
See here for Directions for this Mountain Dog Walk and more photos. An ordnance survey map might be an idea here, as it is easy to get exceptionally lost.
Would be nice if we could find that World War Two Bomber that Jack has found in the photo. Lots of poppies there, so it must be frequently visited by relatives - and it is in the middle of a mountain with no paths to it!
