Dates for Birds and Bees plus Falconry Classes - Craig-y-Nos Country Park
While dogs may run 'off lead' in the large Hay Meadow field, under normal circumstances and when 'under control' (and provided they do 'come to your call' when asked), there are occasions when the Pavilion Field which is between our field gate at the bottom of our footpath and the meadow field, is being used by a Professional Falconer. At this time dogs must be on a lead in the Pavilion Field and the adjoining Hay Meadow.
The Falconer runs Falconry classes and is occasionally involved in pest control the natural way, using his birds to catch moles and other pests that are damaging grassland, trees and hedgerows in this area. When the Falconer is there, your dogs will need to be on a lead in this section of the Country Park. The Woodland area of the Country Park is not affected - provided dogs don't bound across the River Tawe from the Woodland area to the Meadow area. However we have agreed the Falconer must (A) notify us and the Country Park in advance of his planned days in the Park and (B) Put up clear signage at the entrances to the Pavilion field area, so everyone is aware to put dogs on leads in this area while he is there. So far the dates comprise:
(1) Monthly 'taster days' - free to the public: Wednesday 31st May 2017, Wednesday 12th July 2017, and Wednesday 16th August.
(2) Groupon marketed fee paying training days: April: Sunday 9th, Saturday 15th, Wednesday 26th, Sunday 30th, May: Saturday 6th, Thursday 11th, Sunday 21st, Saturday 27th, June: Sunday 4th, Saturday 17th.
