Craig y Nos Country Park Meadow

Here I can really stretch my legs. CHAAARGGE!  A huge open field to race up and down.
I'll really work up an appetite here!

Long grass in summer to roll in. Plenty of trees around for an endless supply of sticks. Or maybe I'll chase a frisbee.

There's even a nice picnic spot on the banks of the river - through a gate at the bottom of the hay meadow. Few know of this spot, very private and lovely on a sunny day.

If I get too hot & panting after my long dog walk, I'll take a dip in the cold river water that flows off the mountain.

Dates for Birds and Bees plus  Falconry Classes  - Craig-y-Nos Country Park

While dogs may run 'off lead' in the large Hay Meadow field, under normal circumstances and when 'under control' (and provided they do 'come to your call' when asked), there are a few occasions when the Pavilion Field which is between our field gate at the bottom of our footpath and the meadow field, is used by a Professional Falconer. At this time dogs must be on a lead in the Pavilion Field and the adjoining Hay Meadow.

The Falconer runs Falconry classes and pest control using his birds to catch moles and other pests that are damaging grassland, and hedgerows. When the Falconer is here, dogs need to be on a lead in this section of the Country Park. The Woodland area of the Country Park is not affected. The Falconer puts up signs when he is there. He offers (1) Monthly 'taster days'  - free to the public: Wednesday 31st May 2017,  Wednesday 12th July 2017, and Wednesday 16th August.  He may run courses (depending on bookings) in May: Saturday 6th, Thursday 11th, Sunday 21st, Saturday 27th, and in June: Sunday 4th, Saturday 17th.
